Entrepreneurship - Jean-Marc Talbot

In this workshop, we will illustrate some of the challenges faced when building a fast growing software company selling in the B2B arena. Created 4 years ago, Esterel Technologies indeed develops and sell development tools for the design of electronic systems and real time embedded software in Aerospace & Defense, Automotive, Semiconductor and consumer electronics; based on unique technologies initially developed in academia in France.

Beginning with a brief overview of the market, opportunities (especially in North America) and value proposal, we will discuss some of the cultural differences between Europe and USA that makes the investment and deployment in USA of European software companies, both a risk and an opportunity and how to overcome them.

Time for experience sharing and discussion will be left for after the presentation.

  Corporate

Outsourced Payroll and Human Resources - Julia Merrill
The purpose of this workshop is to educate the group on the cost-effectiveness and ease of outsourcing payroll, HR and benefits to
a group of experts. Intuit's products have been an integral part of many companies, with 85% of small businesses in the U.S. using QuickBooks for their accounting system.  Intuit's fully outsourced solution for payroll and benefits integrates seamlessly with our software, allowing for a totally paperless and secure operation.

Hero of the month: Jerome Mota

We would like to thank Jerome De Vasconcelos Mota for his significant contribution to the InterFrench community and help him to find a job as a computer programmer. Jerome has been volunteering to InterFrench and built our executives online directory in just a few weeks using Php and MySQL. He is reliable, hard-worker, a fast-learner and a pleasure to work with! He just graduated from San Jose State with a computer science degree and has only 2 months left to find a job here.

Geoff Mathieux, an experienced Mortgage Lender will take you thru the labyrinth of Fixed 30 yr., Fixed 15 yr., ARMS, Interest only, Balloon payments, Neg Ams, No Negs, etc.

  Entrepreneurship

A Roadmap to Information-Age Opportunities and Success - Dr. Thomas J. Buckholtz, business and executive coach (co-pioneer of several technologies; former co-CIO, U.S. federal government’s Executive Branch)
